A: Unfortunately, unlike Theism the ‘Atheism’ once ‘redeveloped’ it is not curable. However, ‘redevelopment’ is very much preventable. Here are some treatments for ‘Atheism’ that have been successfully used around the globe from time immemorial.
Childhood indoctrination: Not many people are aware that all humans are born Atheists (a term used to describe people who are suffering from ‘Atheism’). But most people are successfully cured of it in their childhood through systematic indoctrination. Childhood indoctrination involves psychological manipulation by the family primarily in the early stages of a child’s moral and intellectual development to act and think on the basis of a certain ideology. This is by far the most successful treatment for ‘Atheism’. Once cured of it will progressively get much harder to redevelop it as the person aged.
Typical correlation between Age and Disease Incidence of ‘Atheism’ is below:
Phenomena observed that despite best efforts, in rear cases some people redevelop ‘Atheism’ during early adulthood (Recrudescence Phase) which usually progressed from ‘Agnosticism’ which is allegedly early warning sign of ‘Atheism’ in most cases.
Fear and control: Exposing the subject or yourself to the regular dose of coercive fear and control mechanism is an excellent supplement for the treatment of ‘Atheism’.
What makes you think atheism is a state of mind that needs to be treated? I regard atheism as absolutely necessary to spiritual growth.
For a person of faith, atheism is a good stage to enter because in it, you question the validity, not just of your religion, but of faith itself. For me, as a religious person, I am very glad to have been an atheist for a while because it allowed me to really think about my religion, to look squarely at its claims, and to eventually separate in my mind those things I regarded as part of religion and those things that I regarded as faith and to assess their relative merits.
I concluded that I had little use for organized religion, but I found great value in faith. The best, more useful, aspects of organized religion promote faith. The less useful aspects of organized religion promote the organization and its dogma.
While you are in the mindset of atheism, you feel it to be permanent—and it might become permanent. That’s okay. It’s good to question. Anything, even religion, that cannot stand up to questioning doesn’t deserve our consideration.
For me, my period of atheism allowed me to re-find and to refine my faith. Once I worked out what religious teachings did and did not make sense to me, I was able to come up with a worldview that matches reality but still admits spiritual faith.
So don’t knock atheism. There are far worse ills in the world.
Your asking if there is a treatment for someone who is rational and only accepts as his knowledge base anything that can be proven. I suppose one such treatment is a hard hit to the head so that he loses his ability to be rational.
You have to remember, we are all born atheists, and only a sext few have had the influence of religion brainwash their views, their knowledge base, and their beliefs via downloading a religious virus in their thought process that interferes with rationality.
I upvoted you but would like to make what I consider a “correction.”
Most people’s brains are corrupted not by “allowing” absurd dogmas to be downloaded, but by well meaning relatives doing their religious brainwashing duty.
(in my opinion)

Your point is well-taken. Let me see if I can better word my answer.
Atheism is the cure!
For more than 98% Christianity is the problem! It’s the rare 2% OR LESS Christians that don’t make an COMPLLET asshole of themself!
They have to lie to support their religion, they constantly lie to each other for religious support, they lie so often they can’t sort the truth out from the flood of lies.
A treatment?
As in it's some sort of disease or defect that needs some kind of cure or therapy?
A person's beliefs or non-beliefs are their own free choice - often influenced by those around them or sometimes by their own experiences.
Your question is as ridiculous as asking if there is a treatment for people whose favourite colour is blue: someone's favourite colour is their own free choice, and attempting to ‘treat’ that is futile at best.
Or it's like ‘treating' someone for their favourite book.
My favourite book is still ‘War of the Worlds’, I don't seek a cure for those who think ‘Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea’ is a better book, because a ‘better book' is someone's personal opinion, and on something that might affect their own life but doesn't really affect anyone else's.
The same is true for religion (or lack thereof): take from yours what you will, live well and live good; let others do the same with their own beliefs (or lack thereof). Their beliefs don't affect you, don't let your beliefs affect them either.
There is an urgent need to create a treatment for believers like you, but unfortunately stupidity can not be cured.
Atheism is the default setting.
We are all born atheists.
Do you mean to tell me you believe we are all born defective?
And then we are brainwashed into religion. Some people, anyway.
If anything, there needs to be a treatment for that.
Yes.
Lying, threats, childhood indoctrination, and wilful ignorance are all well-known methods of getting rid of atheism.
You could try brainwashing people. It worked for thousands of cults and some of them even turned into world-religions.
Is there a treatment for atheism?
Well, I suppose you could lock up a few atheists in a sanitarium with religious hymns playing 24/7, but it would probably just drive them nuts!
Better yet, just arrange for god to explain himself in person; I’m so sure that would work that I’ll volunteer for the occasion!
Not as yet but there is certainly a cure for your stupidity. It is called education. (or a frontal lobotomy)

It’s not a disease.
Well, if religion was built on reason, education, critical thinking etc you could try religion but usually it is atheism that is built on those things and religion is built (especially the fundamentalist kind) on dogma, superstition and make-believe.
No - but if we keep irradiating the cancer of religion with the rays of truth, maybe it will disappear and there will be no further need for atheism.
Is there a treatment for atheism?
Yes. It is called indoctrination.
The end result is an inability to think rationally about religious matters.
It is best inculcated by an exclusive diet of religious tall tales in early childhood.
No. It’s not an illness so there is no treatment.
Serious brain damage can remove atheism.
There’s nothing to treat, it’s the lack of belief in a god or gods. If your problem is that atheists exist, that’s easy to fix: prove there’s a god.

Can I be cured of being an atheist?.
This is my answer
1.
I would require a logical and verifiable explanation that I could understand, and which explained how it would be possible, that God could exist and where he came from and how he could be all powerful and could be omniscient
2.
I would need to know why and how God created the world
3.
I would need to know and accept why God created sin
4.
I would need to know more about heaven and, in particular, if I could communicate with people already dead (which the Bible does not promise)
5.
I would need to understand and accept the problem of pain (child cancer?)
6.
I would need to know and accept why God allows the devil to exist
7.
I would need a reasonable explanation of all the horrible bits in the Old Testament (God allegedly arranged for 2.4 million deaths plus one flood holocaust killing young and old, innocent and guilty)
8.
I would need an explanation for all the illogical and contradictory bits of the Bible (eg the flood story is just plain wrong on quite a few issues)
9.
I would need to know and accept the reasons why God revealed himself so late in history to one remote and small tribe and it would take another 1500 years before the rest of the world could know about him
10.
I would need to know why an omnipotent God set the world up so that his son had to die horribly for my sins
11.
I would need to know why God did not visit my local church (God so loved the world that he hides behind clouds!!)
12.
I would need some verifiable proof that Jesus actually existed (seems unlikely)
13.
I would need to have proof that the New Testament descxtion of events was accurate (seems unlikely)
I would not want to rely on ancient foreign goat herder’s myths and the intellectual dishonesty of ‘leaps of faith’.
You would have to remove all my ethics, sense of justice, and sense of being an independent sentient creature
You would have to make me accept that I am owned
You would have to make me accept being a slave that has no say in what rules govern my life
You would have to make me accept that moral debt can be traded like some bargaining chip
You would have to make me accept that moral debt is not owned by the one that was harmed by my actions
You would have to make me accept that atonement is a way to erase moral debt
You would have to make me think that torture and killing is acceptable atonement
You would have to make me accept moral debt can be erased
You would have to make me accept scapegoating
…so in short, you would have to erase my most fundamental senses of ethics, justice, and self-determination.
That is all.
Atheism is not a disease to be treated and/or cured. It is a philosophical point of view on the question of whether any gods exist - yours included.
Take the braces off your brain and begin asking questions instead of issuing answers regarding things you do not actually understand.
Best of luck!
No, but there is a treatment for stupidity. It’s called getting an education. I advise you invest in such treatment.
Any evidence for any god would mean an end to all atheism.
(That’s in theory, of course. It has never been tried in practice.)
You could try lobotomy,I suppose, but then you would have to take care of the former atheist around the clock till the atheist’s death. And lobotomies for that reason are also illegal, so you might have to slip the surgeon an extra to make it worthy his while to break the law.
