South Korea isn't even a country. It's a plastic world where everyone is a robot and their only concern is how good they look. When I went to Seoul with a mate, those pricks literally asked me not to take him along to the meeting because he was dark complexioned. Their entire economy is a joke
It's like they have a scxt given to them everyday and they act out the scxt

Control of resources is in the hands of a few major corporations and houses
It's exactly like China where one party controls everything except that in China, you at least have more vibrant private enterprise system and a multitude of startups
In South Korea , you have none
Every business has some lix to the big guys who include Samsung
Samsung has more power than their government officials
South Koreas big houses are a worse form of com...st party than the Chinese one

You guys will need a lot of Government control initially though
You guys are like those small cubs of animals who need a protective cage and smothering for a lot of years until you are strong enough to be released and let free
Today you can't last if you are released which is what your government is trying to do

You guys need twenty or thirty years of strict government controls and protection of your consumers
If done rightly, you can have the potential to do a lot of wonderful things
I say miniscule because your present set up doesn't make this scenario look possible
You guys love your big businessmen too much just like South Korea except Indians are so vibrant, free willed and dynamic people and Koreans are platonic robots with little free will.
Those guys who con the Americans as IRS officials - they have what it takes to take you guys to any height if you use their enterprise. They can sell ice to eskimos.
Maybe that's why my father is pissed off and writes all these harsh answers because you are wasting precious opportunity and destroying your own nation

China kept their cubs in the cages until today you have a strong wild animal
But the Chinese keep it caged all the time
They have trading limits in their share markets and now they have constrained HK markets as well
When I first went for my internship , I worked with Dealers , fetching them coffee and doing XL files and they had worked in HK and Japan and they used to say how volatile those markets were
At 10:30, Nikkei was surging and they went for a small break and at 11:00 Nikkei was crashing in the opposite direction
HK was just like that
You could make a million HK shorting stocks in a day and lose it the next day
Today the same market has been chained and tied up with constraints so that even if the companies are bursting with potential , I cannot buy freely and have to go by trade limits.
Same for Chinese markets
They are so worried about a possible black tuesday that they are super conservative and everything is caged and closed
You can't lose your shirt that way but you can't see real money that way either
So the Chinese animal is strong, fully grown but still kept in a cage
Their Government keeps making the cage bigger from time to time but thats not enough
They have to release it and watch it fight and adapt
It may get hurt, it may get bitten but it will adapt and ultimately achieve its potential
Otherwise China would also be wasting precious opportunity and can never be a formidable rival to the States

So India and China have a limited window
China should bring about risk taking and start slowly removing the shackles from their markets
If it does it can be the next United States
India should bring new shackles to their markets and bring in better and stronger intervention and price control to give the middle class buying consumers a breather and make them stronger
If it does, it can be the next China
If neither take the opportunity, both would have wasted their chance
Korea has no chance
Korea is doomed to crash and collapse
Both the sides are living in a dream
One side is utopian and textbook
Another side is a disguised group of corrupt big houses running the show

When he was like us, he must have dreamt his country will be developed like first world country or atleast closer to that, by the time he retires. But this is no way close to developed country. Just because we have lots of startups or few automobiles manufacturing hubs, doesn't means we are developed country. Our exports are way too less and imports way too higher, our domestic expenses almost exceeds our revenue and both of which isn't sign of developed countrySo I would say he's frustrated, that his dream is no way close to reality even after 3–4 generations. No need to agree with whatever he says. But atleast we can see if he is talking facts or is delusional. For me he's the former. And for those who think he's latter, may sanity prevail.

Well mate, your encounter with south Koreans are limited. I have a s korean gf and I have some insights about their country at present. The millenials are racists af. The newer generations are not. Their mind is highly diversed. Talking about outlook, more than many Indians in india do lots of them acknowledge the fact that india can't be more diverse as a country and they love every bit of the diversity.But their inclination towards surgery doesn't seem to wane even in the newer generations. And I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing, is it?I am sure that S korea will continue to be a major player in Asia as long as the usa is a major player in the world.And I don't think the newer generations are economically or politically inclined like their parents and grandparents. I have seen it first hand.
