China has been outpacing much of the world with its efforts to develop sixth-generation or 6G wireless communications. The new technology is expected to change the way we interact with the world by fusing “real” and digital environments as well as by allowing more intelligent and innovative systems to combine with other technologies. But while China established three 6G technological standards in 2024, not all countries have been as proactive embracing the next generation of interconnectivity.
