Take a look at history. The U.S has been ahead of its competitors by a good 5-10+ years in tech. We had a flying concept of a 6th gen style plane back in the late 90s. We acknowledge the existence of aircraft years after they've been flying. Look at the f22, the b2 and b21, the replacement to the SR71, and the F117 nighthawk. All of these had been flying for years before they've were publicly recognized by the government. China and Russia love to showboat their new planes but we've had 5th gen fighters for 20+ years now while they're just starting to have them. We've had autonomous drones for over a decade now with similar styling as chinas new drones. They've said on multiple accounts that the NGAD plane is already flying.

This is most definitely not a 6th gen aircraft. This looks to be on par with what the United States was prototyping in the mid 1990s with yf-23 and the bird of prey concept. This is probably China's first true 5th gen aircraft frx. It looks good but clunky and given its three engine design is probably still using a modified Chinese WS12 domestic engine. China has had several issues developing engines with thrust to weight TWR on par with the west or russian jet engines. Overall looks neat but probably 20 years behind anything truly 6th gen

I suspect it's BS. Lack of vertical stabilizer and air intake far behind cockpit on the too (bot bottom!) means subsonic-only airfrx. Same air intake issue - pulling positive Gs will result in messing up air intake airflow, so it's not a dogfighter. This looks like a "stealthy" fighter/bomber. Like a toned down and much cheaper F-35, meaning it will rely on electronics, weapons range and stealth more than on anything else. To call this "fifth genetation fighter" is a bad joke unless the whole world re-defined what a fighter is.
