What you may not realize is that even the most high-end computer CPU currently, the Intel Core i9-14900K, still uses the 10nm process. The push for 3nm or even 2nm processes is primarily aimed at compact devices like smartphones, where higher computing power needs to be packed into a smaller size. For computers, size is no longer a major limiting factor. Therefore, equating high-end computers with the latest chip manufacturing processes is inappropriate. By that logic, even Intel’s top-tier CPUs would be considered garbage — which clearly doesn’t make any sense.

HarmonyOS, while initially based on Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and the Linux kernel, is transitioning towards a self-developed Harmony kernel, which is not based on Linux. Huawei's HarmonyOS Next is designed as a full-fledged operating system with its own kernel and is not just an Android skin, according to Huawei CEO Yu Chengdong. So it is its own kernel. An Operating System (OS) is a comprehensive software that manages and controls a computer's hardware and software resources, providing a platform for applications to run while Kernel is the core component of an OS. HarmonyOS is based on a microkernel architecture, not a single specific kernel like Linux- meaning it can integrated with many applications. The closest comparison would be Apple OS which is based on the XNU kernel, which is a hybrid kernel combining components from the Mach kernel and FreeBSD.

Huawei p20 pro android phone launched in 2018 is much better in functionality than my current Google pixel 9 pro. I own both. Google phone has many failures. The screen not functioning frequently, shut down by itself, overheating….many more.
